Public Speaking or Presentation?
The term public speaking is defined as the procedure or an act of speaking to a set of individuals in an organised, planned, and measured manner or thoughtful way or style that is intended to inspire, encourage, influence, notify or entertain the crowd. Basically, public speaking is a face-to-face speaking amid the audience or individuals for the sole purpose of communication. Presentation is closely associated with public speaking however; it is more of a commercial, knowledge sharing or profitable activity.
Fear of Public Speaking
When some people hear the words, “public speaking” they feel an instant fear or terror. Glossophobia or the fear of talking in public affects hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world. This is also called the speech anxiety and according to a study; a lot of people in UK are affected with this fear. No matter what kind of speech people are delivering, their body will tremble; they will feel physically sick, sweating, rapid breathing and mental blocks.
